Spend The Night
Comedy show at M Bar in Los Angeles hosted by Barry Rothbart and Johnny Pemberton. The inaugural show featured comedians Paul Scheer (Human Giant, FX's The League), TJ Miller (She's Out Of My League, Get Him to the Greek), Eric Andre (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Comedy Central's Live at Gotham), Tremendosaur, and DJ Douggpound (Tim & Eric).
I wanted to play with the theme of a sleep over so I based the poster around an old illustration of several girls in nightgowns from an children's alphabet book from the late 19th century.

Comedy Death-Ray
Comedy Death-Ray (AKA "CDR") has been "The World's Best Comedy Night" since 2002. Every Tuesday night, at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles, CDR has kept "people" in "stitches." For this poster, I wanted to do a deconstruction of the CDR logo: a skeleton in a suit holding a ray gun. I also wanted to reinforce a connection to the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater, where the show takes place, so I overlaid the UCB logo onto the skull.
